Personal Chef, Cooking Instructor, Ayurveda and Yoga Teacher: Linda has been a personal chef for nearly 20 years, having begun her career in New York City after graduating from The Natural Gourmet Cookery School in 1990. Her specialty is preparing meals that meet particular dietary requirements, and she has provided this in-home service to many individuals and families. In NYC she began teaching weekly cooking classes that emphasized eating whole foods such as grains and beans, and eating with the season. She is recognized as a student of Wise Earth School of Ayurveda (Ashville, NC) and authorized to teach its food sadhana theories.
After moving to Louisville, KY in 2001, Linda continued these culinary services, including preparing dinner for a family of 5 twice a week to help establish good eating habits and manners for 3 young children. She prepared and served many dinners for special family events. After leaving Louisville to move north to Coudersport, PA with her husband, Bill, Linda continued teaching weekly cooking classes in her home, specializing in ethnic cuisine and healthy eating. She prepared and served graduation, wedding, birthday and holiday parties as well. Following another recent job change for her husband, Linda now resides in Ambridge, PA, northwest of Pittsburgh. She continues to provide in-home culinary services and is looking for a kitchen to hold cooking classes. Yoga Teacher: Linda began practicing yoga in New York City in 1989 at the Uptown Integral Yoga studio. She was asked to join a teacher training program in 1990 and taught a weekly Hatha I class for 6 years. In 1995 she began practicing and teaching at the Rasa Yoga Studio, and she holds a certification from both yoga schools to teach Beginners' yoga classes. In addition to the weekly group class, she also taught private one-on-one yoga. Linda taught at Orbis Yoga in Louisville for 2 years, and at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital's Wellness Center in Coudersport, PA for 3 years. She is currently employed at the Sewickley, PA YMCA, as a fitness instructor, teaching a Restorative yoga class. Linda also teaches private one-on-one sessions and classes in student's home.
